The different steps in your emergency call

In the event of an emergency, when you call our dedicated call centre, you will be taken through the following steps:

  1. 1 - We take your call and gather information about your pet's health,
  2. 2 - We continue the questioning with the information we feel is essential,
  3. 3 - We assess the seriousness of the situation and find out if your situation is a veterinary emergency.
  4. 4 - If the situation requires it, we will suggest an appointment with our emergency vet.
  5. 5 - Our dispatcher will tell you how long it will take and what the consultation fee will be.
  6. 6 - Finally, you will receive a text message summarising and confirming the information provided by our teams.

As the final step in our process, our teams will call you back as soon as the vet is on his way to your home to give you the exact time of his arrival. Keep your phone by your side and stay available.

Emergency veterinary teleconsultation

In the very near future, our department will be making a teleconsultation system available to you. This will give you remote access to a out-of-hour vet on your smartphone or computer.

What are the aims of teleconsultation?

  1. To use video to help us regulate and simplify the interpretation of what you say,
  2. To improve the assessment of your problem and clarify the need to see a vet quickly,
  3. Simplify the dispensing of initial advice. The video will enable us to guide your actions remotely, so that we can act quickly and effectively while waiting for the emergency vet to visit.

Nothing has yet been decided about the cost of these teleconsultations, but it is likely to be around £39.
